Speaking at Dutch DevDays and Danish ALM Day
Will be speaking at the Dutch DevDays [about VS2010 general/practical usages] and Danish ALM Day [about TMap for VS2010] in March/April.
The Hague, The Netherlands
March 30-31, 2010
DevDays 2010
[update]
Will give the interactive session "ALM Best Practices: Modeling the Showcase Application" with @Edwb (www.edwardbakker.nl) and the session "ALM Best Practices: Testing the Showcase Application" with www.RobKuijt.nl. Rob is a real tester, who will give an interesting look in the world of the tester.

ALM Day 2010
Not as much as Brian Keller [4 weeks, 7 countries, 25+ sessions, 1 suitcase…]… looking forward to it, specially because I can travel again and almost can walk without crutches. So, I can do my talks standing with my hands on the keyboard without falling.
Broken leg…
Broke my leg during ice skating last Sunday [see picture]. Had to stay in the hospital for surgery. A nail is put in my bone [see pdf below, also contains operative techniques.. very interesting :-)].
After a few nights I’m back home. Have to recover for several months, the first six weeks I’m not allowed to put any pressure on my leg… no MVP summit for me this year, even worse also had to cancel two ski –telemark- vacations [Skieda] and it’s still freezing in the Netherlands.

Swarm Theory and Architecture Explorer
just for fun…
This is an architecture diagram from the TeamArchitect.Modelstore.Interfaces… impressive vsts2010 can render such a diagram. But, also useless for analyzing, although….
It looks like a swarm and there are some theories how these swarms behave… for example this article “The Genius of Swarms” or wiki’s explanation of the swarm theory…
Swarm intelligence (SI) is a type of artificial intelligence based on the collective behavior of decentralized, self-organized systems.
So, the TeamArchitect.Modelstore.Interfaces has some kind of intelligence, a collective behavior.
The Swarm Theory is also connected with Chaos Theory and that one with The Lorenz attractor, which give us some formulas for the behavior of this assembly… :-)
anyway… I think it’s easier to put some more filters on the architecture diagram.

Install Windows 7 ISO without DVD writer software but with Virtual PC
Installed Windows 7 Beta 1 this morning just before ice skating in my backyard.
[click to zoom, the pushpin is where I live at the water and now at the ice… really great, see also picture below]
[Vicky and Abel]
Actually I upgraded the 6801 PDC version to the 7000 version [no problems with that]. But because I don’t have a DVD writer and no ISO reading tool I used the workaround I did many times and just because I haven’t seen any post about it [and I wanted to show some skating pictures] I thought let’s post it.
What did I do to install the Windows 7 ISO image, the steps are very easy.
I do think everybody nowadays have Virtual PC installed, if not… think it over… it’s an easy way to have a playground for all the obscure software you want to install and try [and it’s free]. After you have installed it, don’t forget to install the ‘Additions’ found in the file menu.
After opening a virtual environment go to the CD menu and select “Capture ISO image”, don’t run the setup but browse to the CD. Copy-past the complete directory to a location on the host machine and run the setup from there, every thing works fine on my machine.
A very easy way to install Windows 7 [on your main environment] without using DVD’s…
Have fun… my machine was up and running within one round of ice skating… it was a beautiful morning.

Microsoft MVP 2009 Award
Just checking my email [with a little new-years party headache] and found an email in my ‘spambox’ telling me I am awarded with a Microsoft MVP award [Clemens Reijnen: Team System: Architecture]…
Congratulations! We are pleased to present you with the 2009 Microsoft® MVP Award! This award is given to exceptional technical community leaders who actively share their high quality, real world expertise with others.
That's a great start of 2009.
